1. YouTube video: Beginning Graphic Design: Typography
This short motion graphic video is about Japanese-style typography. It
has shown a unique style of Japanese atmosphere with the combination
of colour, music rhythm and dynamic, design, pattern, typography and
etc. I like animation move when the beat drop, the video give a feel
of mysterious and cool.

This video has a simple text animation and clearly explain about
the basic typography. I love how they combine visual audio and
content congruity, it has matches perfectly what is shown. I
belived this vidoe could help beginner to easily understand.

This video is clearly explaining the story with music and colourful
graphics which went along perfectly. TED-Ed always makes this kind of
video which has made the learning become interesting and peoples are
easier to understand and learn from it.

This is my first time using Adobe After Effect, it took me 4 hours to
practice and complete 3 seconds of kinetic typography "So, so what?"
music video. Through this practice, I had understood the basic tools

Week 5
I decided to choose the Peppa Granny recipe for my Instructable Poster:

Pici all’Aglione (Pasta with Garlic Sauce) From Tuscany, Italian
Ingredients:
- 400g zero zero flour
- Semolina flour
- 1 egg
- Water
- 1 garlic
- Olive oil
- Peperoncino(hot chilli peppers)
- Tomato concentrate
- 1 tin puree tomato
Dough:
Use 400g zero zero flour, add 1 egg & enough water and mix until smooth and silky
Slice the dough and cut each one into battens
Roll using straight fingers, in Tuscany pici can be thicker. Drop the pici into semolina flour to stop them from sticking
Cook the pici in boiling salted water for around 2 minutes
Sauce:
Fries several cloves of garlic with plenty of olive oil and cook until it can be crushed with a spoon. Add peperoncino to taste, follow by tomato concentrate, a tin puree tomato and a little of water
Stire the pici into garlicky tomato sauce

This is my sketches ideas:
My first idea(left sketch) is there will be 2 parts which are
pasta dough recipe and another part is sauce recipe, both will mix
together to become a Pici all’Aglione. For the second idea(right
sketch) is there will be a blackboard behind it and a sketch with
chalk like a coffee shop chalkboard manu.
Sketches (Week 5, 5 Feb 2022)
For the first progression, I was having a problem drawing the
noodles(progression 1, right corner). Therefore, I found this
video as my reference. I create different sizes of ellipse shape
tools and combine them accordingly from large to small size to
make the pasta noodles.

Besides, I also found a splashing sauce image as a reference to
make like a sauce and noodle mixing together.

I used Buree chalk font for the title & Chalkboard for the
body but found out the recipes is too much words to fit in a
poster. Hence I have to paraphrase it again.

Here's my final outcome of Peppa Granny's recipe Instructable Infographic Poster:
I decided to combine both ideas because I think the
second sketches infographic will be a bit messy and
confusing which will cause hard to read. Hence, I use
the first idea sequence and second idea chalkboard idea
to create the Instructable Poster final outcome.

One of the problems I faced is the Illustrator outline has made a lot of line grouping when I move to After Effect. When I was thinking about redoing everything, I found this video to fix my problem. :)

This is a minute of recording my working process for fun, it took 2 days to complete the video. Even though it was tiring but it was quite fun at the same time, and I'm satisfied with the outcome!:D

REFLECTIONS
In these projects, I have experienced creating kinetic typography, instructable infographics posters and animation. It was quite challenging for the first time because it was quite rushed to complete everything including exercises in the short semester. But gratefully, I managed to complete everything on the time. During completing both project 1 and project 2, I found out I have improved a lot. I'm able to be more familiar with Illustrator, especially making animation in After Effect. Besides, I also found out that a lot of animations from Instagram and TikTok is made by After Effect which made me more interested in After Effect. In these projects, I believed that the effort and amount of time have shown great results. I believed it was worth it.
