REFLECTIONS

Experience: 
The reason I choose the Typography module is that I am an Advertising and Branding student. I believed the skills I learned from this module will help me in my future career. Typography is not that tough to learn but it took a lot of effort and time to complete all my tasks. Especially for task 1 exercises 1 & 2, because we have to do notes for lectures and tutorials and at the same time we have to do further reading. However, this has helped me a lot to understand typography more deeply and clearly. Noting down notes could help me remember what I had learned and save my time to rewatch the recorded videos. The most enjoyable task in this module is task 3B because I was satisfied with my Christmas GIF. Since I did a GIF before in task 1 exercise 1, therefore I am more fluent and skilled to create GIF and have fun with the process of making GIF. Overall, it was fun, and I enjoyed the process of learning Typograph.
 
Observations:
In the process of learning, I discovered that typography is not just about typeface and size, but also about kerning and tracking line length, alignment, space between the headers, and the body text. Typography is important for me because I have to make sure is clear, and visually appealing to the reader in advertising. Moreover, I had learned to observe typeface. For example font like Times New Roman is a serif font that is suitable for printing since tends to work better in larger sizes. While font like Arial is best for the web as the resolution is lower on the web. While this small little detail I observed and learned is very helpful in my task and other modules.

Findings:
In this module, I found out that little detail is important, it will make the outcome more effective to make good quality work, such as size, font, kerning, and tracking. Pay closer attention to details is very helpful in process of making good work. Besides, research must be prioritised, it will not just help us to get some inspiration from others' work but help us think out of the box to come up with innovative ideas. Doing some sketches before digitalizing helps me a lot to convey ideas and save time before digitalizing. By following the sequence given, I had successfully completed my work in time.
